- SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Erie VA Medical Center, 135 East 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504, is seeking to obtain information on a nurse call system. This is not a request for competitive quotes. It is a notice to obtain possible sources that have the capacity and capability of providing cart washers. Several characteristics are listed below. If your company can provide a nurse call system that meets these characteristics, please submit the following information to Jennifer Balsiger, Contracting Officer, at Jennifer.balsiger2@va.gov, no later than May 17, 2013 at 9:00 AM EST. Information to Submit "GSA Schedule, if applicable "Socioeconomic status of your company "List of federal contracts held by your company "Confirmation that your company is listed in SAM "Product brochures and other publically-available information Salient Characteristics 1.Ability to send emergency calls for cardiac resuscitation to a central location, such as a switchboard operator. 2.Ability to interface to wireless telephones, such as Cisco, Ascom, etc. and pagers 3.Ability to send normal patient calls to the wireless telephones to notify medical staff 4.Ability to send emergency cardiac resuscitation calls to the wireless telephones and to pagers 5.Provide examples of other systems that the nurse call system can interface to, such as Roam Alert, Centrac RLTS, Johnson Controls Environmental systems, fire alarm systems, building security systems, etc. 6.Patient room stations need to be configurable to provide various functions, such as sending a call to a housekeeper to clean the room, emergency calls other than cardiac resuscitation 7.Patient room stations need to be able to interface with other medical devices to produce alarm messages at a central nursing location or sent to wireless telephones. Medical devices such as Hill Rom beds, Carefusion/Alaris infusion pumps 8.Patient room stations capable of 2 way communication 9.Restroom call stations capable of 2 way communication 10.Must have a nurse call console with display that can be located at a central nursing location 11.All devices must be hard-wired 12.System must have battery backup to support the system during temporary power loss 13.Please let us know if your company installs wireless telephone systems, including repeaters, switches, etc. Please let us know if your company installs wiring for patient stations and all other
