- Description
- The Naval Medical Logistics Command, Fort Detrick, MD intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 12 and FAR 16.5) with A-Dec, Inc., 2601 Crestview Dr., Newberg, OR 97132-9528, as the only responsible source that can provide additional Dental Delivery Systems components and Blanket Wrapped Shipping to the existing competitively awarded Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract (N62645-12-D-5043). This will be done via a modification to the existing IDIQ contract. The government determined this modification to be within the scope of the contract because these are additional components to the Dental Delivery Systems required to support the Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs). Blanket Wrapped Shipping eliminates additional time required for on-site installation. The following Components of the Dental Delivery System are as follows: Delivery System (Post Mount) - Total Quantity - 28ea Tray 13.5 x 9.5 x.75 - Total Quantity - 28ea Support Center - Total Quantity - 28ea Assistant's Instrumentation - Total Quantity - 28ea Chair Mount LED Dental Light - Total Quantity - 28ea The quantities listed above encompass the entire five (5) year Period of Performance. In addition, the government is adding installation for blanket wrapped shipping. The maximum quantities for the current period of performance are estimated at 50 blanket wrapped shipments. The option year periods of performance are estimated at 250 blanket wrapped shipments per year. The total estimated amount for the post mounted dental delivery system is $196,328.16 for the base and four option periods. The total estimated amount for the blanket wrapped shipping is $1,102,500.00 for the base and four option periods. This acquisition was conducted IAW FAR 12, Commercial Items and IAW FAR Part 16, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 339114 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received within 15 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Regulatory Requirements: The system and all of the components, shall be compliant with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements to market and deliver medical products for use in the United States of America, even should delivery be requested outside of the United States. The claims made for the product shall comply with the regulations of the FDA with respect to products for marketing and delivery of a medical product for use in the United States of America, even should delivery be requested outside of the United States. The systems shall be installed in compliance with OSHA requirements.
