Description
The VAMC Providence (PVAMC) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements with Olympus America Inv. for 2 CV-190 EVIS EXERA III Video Processor. This requirement will include the following characteristics: Product Description ENTER PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Purchase of an endoscopic video processor and light source to replace current components of the Olympus endoscopic tower currently utilized at the Providence VAMC. The processor and light source provide light and video during an endoscopic procedure. The endoscope is connected to both the light source and the processor. Salient Characteristics Currently, PVAMC is standardized to Olympus endoscopes and has endoscopic towers comprised of Olympus components. The requested items will be replacing components of this tower and must be compatible in form, fit and function with the existing components. Olympus is the only manufacturer that is able to provide components that can be fully integrated into the current endoscopic tower. (A) Functions to be performed: a. Provide light and high-definition video utilizing the existing keyboard and monitoring components of the Olympus Endoscopic Tower. (B) Performance Requirements: a. Video processor must be high definition. b. Must be compatible with Olympus Bronchoscopes. c. Light source must be compatible with the high definition video processor. d. Must be compatible with Endoworks. e. High definition video processor must be compatible with light source. (C) Physical Requirements: a. Strongly preferred that connections be made without adapters, this includes between the light source, and between the video processor and Olympus endoscope. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than 5/30/2013. Responses should be sent to James.Corbett2@va.gov. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
