NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED. Reference Request for Quoations and Attachment 1 for additional terms and conditions and specifications. Question and answers to include clarifications as follows: Question 1: Who is installing the projectors? Question 2: Are there installation drawings? Question 3: Could they be referring to DPI's colormax system? Answers for 1, 2, and 3: Installation of the projectors are not part of this requirement. Fourteen projectors will be positioned in a semi-circle pattern at a radial distance of 47ft from the center of a 100ft radius hemispherical dome/projection screen. The horizontal spacing between the centerline of each projector/lens will be 13 degrees for a total projection fan or field-of-view (FOV) of 182deg (13deg x 14 = 182 deg). The total required FOV for each projector/channel (which will include the overlapping or blending regions between adjacent projectors) will be 24 feet or 13.75 degrees horizontal x 15 feet or 8.6 degrees vertical when projected on to the 100ft radius spherical projection screen with a projector throw distance of 53ft (100 - 47 = 53ft) from the screen. Question 4: To provide a price for color balancing we will need more information: The installation drawing will show us how the projectors are being used which will give us a clear idea of how long the color balance will take. Answer 4: As far as color balancing - once the projectors are installed and aligned, we would like for them to be internally color balanced/adjusted (using their built-in color balancing capabilities), to minimize the requirement for external color balancing/corrections which can be accomplished with the image generator software for the entire projection system.
