Description
The purpose of this amendment 02 is to address contractor's questions. The document is attached. The purpose of this amendment is to address the following contractor's questions. 1. Attenuators values X-2 and X-4 are called out. Is it required or desirable that the two attenuators be able to be used cumulatively to provide a total attenuation value of X-8? RESPONSE: It is required that the two attenuators be able to cumulatively provide a total X-8 attenuation. The attenuators must be able to be used individually and cumulatively. The statement of work is amended to include the change. 2. No handling equipment for the attenuators was called out. Should a light duty jib crane mounted on a portable (casters) stand be included in the proposal? RESPONSE: Yes, the contractor is allowed to use a light duty jib crane mounted on portable casters to handle the attenuators. The statement of work is amended to include a light duty jib crane mounted on a portable (casters) stand or equivalent 3. Although not stated in the statement of work, are lockable storage box on casters be required to store the attenuators when not in use? The maximum weight of each attenuator section will be in the order of 25 pounds. RESPONSE: Storage boxes on casters must be provided. They are not required to be lockable. The statement of work is amended to add requiring the use of storage boxes on caster. 4. Can AFFRI offload and load crates skids from a truck? If so what is the maximum weight capacity. RESPONSE: Yes, AFRRI can offload and load crates skids from a truck. The maximum capacity is 5,000 lbs. 5. Please confirm that the Model 81 can be removed from the site for the attenuator installation. RESPONSE: The Model 81 can be removed from the site for the attenuator installation, assuming the contractor takes control of the Co-60 source. Our license only permits the source to be stored in the Model 81 irradiator. Ideally, the contractor will take possession of the Co-60 source and Model 81 irradiator to perform the required tasks and return the unit and source to AFRRI once the work is complete. Additionally, the contractor will have to provide ALL required equipment for moving the source and Model 81 irradiator. 6. We would like a dimensions sketch or photo of the Model 81 device. RESPONSE: The dimensions aren't available at this time but will be posted at a later date.
