- The FAA is seeking experienced firms to furnish and install new mechanically-fastened TPO membrane roofing system for the dock enclosure and locker area at the Chicago ARTCC, Aurora, Illinois. Interested firms must submit a letter or certificate of TPO certification and a list of projects completed using this roofing system in order to receive the Request for Offer package. Provide owner name with phone number, date performed, and dollar amount. Interested firms should provide a letter of interest NO LATER THAN JUNE 5, 2013 via email to melody.mcgovern@faa.gov or fax to 847/294-7801. The Request For Offer is anticipated to be available by June/July 2013. Work consists of but is not limited to the following: 1. Replace roofing system over the dock enclosure and women ™s locker area in the Administration Wing of nominal dimensions 22 ™ x 75 ™ and 40 ™ x 80 ™respectively per drawing ZAU-GL-D-1207-A01 and reference drawings, including removal of the existing roofing membrane and insulation, and installation of an 80 mil, mechanically-attached roofing membrane with insulation tapered for drainage, flashings, counter flashings, sealants, adhesives and related components. 2. Provide roof anchor restraints: Two (2) located twenty-five (25) feet apart, starting at twenty-five (25) feet from east edge and both at fifteen (15) feet from south edge of dock enclosure; and one (1) located twenty-five (25) feet from east edge, centered on women ™s locker area roof. 3. Provide roof walkway pads: Approximately 80 feet on dock enclosure and 120 feet on women ™s locker area. 4. Other work as required in the specifications. 5. Option “ 1: Provide Portable Guard Rail System complete with lightning protection bonding jumpers for dock enclosure and women ™s locker area. 6. Option “ 2: Provide one (1) base lifter/mover for Portable Guard Rail System. 7. Option “ 3: Replace roofing system over four (4) HVAC chases adjacent to the Control Wing per drawing ZAU-GL-D-1207-A01, including removal of the existing roofing membrane and insulation, and installation of an 80 mil, mechanically-attached roofing membrane with insulation tapered for drainage, flashings, counter flashings, sealants, adhesives and related components. Offer range is between $250,000 and $500,000 with a performance time of approximately 90 calendar days. Construction start is anticipated for July/August 2013. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
