- Description
- BATTLEFIELD AIRMEN OPERATIONS (BAO), REQUEST FOR INFORAMTION (RFI) 1. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Battlefield Airmen Branch (WISN), Wright-Patterson AFB OH, is submitting a Request for Information (RFI). The Air Force RFI is for a multi-channel radio that operates simultaneously in all channels. BAO kit operators require the ability to multitask between sensors and delivery vehicles without delay. 2. The system shall support the transport of voice and data to multiple users and networks simultaneously (ex: multi-band, multi-channel) with interoperability with legacy equipment (AN/PRC-117G, AN/PRC-152, AN/PRC-152A, MBITR, Operational Control System (OCS)). The communications suite shall not exceed 14 lbs. 3. Often the operator needs to communicate with the aircraft and send them a picture of the target. Current BAO kit Increment I achieves this capability with two radios. Ideally, a further gain in system weight reduction could be achieved by carrying a single radio with multi-band, two channels (ex: one of voice and the other dedicated for sensor throughput). Furthermore, multiple sensors are employed with the operator, giving them the ability to further increase pilot target area Situational Awareness (SA). Example of objective capability: Being able to make a call while using dial-up internet on the same phone line, even if the person on the other end doesn't have the same capability. 4. Responses may be submitted electronically to the following email address: Primary: Jarrett.Stamper@wpafb.af.mil Alternate: Michael.longstreath.ctr@us.af.mil or mailed to AFLCMC/WISK, Attn. Jarrett Stamper, 1895 5th Street, Bldg 47 Rm 210, Wright Patterson AFB, OH 45433 to be received no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time, 28 June 2013. Any questions concerning this acquisition should be directed to Jarrett.Stamper@wpafb.af.mil
