- Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: Pursuant to FAR 8.402(f), subsequent to OIG Report No. 09-01784-146, and in accordance with the 12/21/2012 DUSHOM memo to standardize the leasing of Endoscopes and related equipment implemented per VHA Directive 2009-004, VHA Handbook 1761.1 and the 4/19/2010 DUSHOM memo, notice is given that VA NY/NJ Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN3) intends to add the following scope series and ancillary equipment via modification to our existing VISN-wide FSS-BPA (VA243-BP-0151) awarded against Olympus America Inc. FSS Schedule contract (VA797P-2065D): PCFColonoscopes CFColonoscopes GIFGastroscopes CV Endoscope video processor (ancillary) CLVEndoscope light source (ancillary) M series*Olympus ancillary/accessory items necessary for the operation of the applicable Endoscopes. *This does not include any items which can be purchased via a 3rd party without voiding the warranty This proposed modification is in furtherance of the VHA goal to standardize leasing of Endoscopes. As stated in the 12/21/2012 DUSHOM Memo, "National standardization will create best value, enhance the safety and quality of patient care, and result in reduced variability in the number of different processes required for endoscope setup, use and reprocessing, thus reducing the potential for error." This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available for this requirement. Interested parties may submit a capability statement and pricing information for the requirement within 7 calendar days of the publication of this notice, to be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed BPA modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a separate competitive procurement.
