- Description
- This project consists of maintenance dredging of beach compatible shoal material, in the Kings Bay Entrance Channel. The work will be divided into three Additives, which progressively add features of work in a stated order of priority. Additives I and II consist of maintenance dredging Cut-1N, between Stations 108+00 and 200+00, to a required depth of 49-feet. Additive III consists of a portion of the North Settling Basin, from between Stations 177+00 and 227+50, to a required depth of 46-feet. This contract incorporates a 2-foot allowable overdepth for the Entrance Channel (Cut-1N) maintenance dredging, and 1-foot allowable overdepth for the North Settling Basin. Dredged material shall be first placed in the North Beach Disposal Area (D/A-NB) to the sections and limits as shown on the drawings. Once the D/A-NB extents have been reached, additional material may be placed in the Fort Clinch Disposal Area D/A-F, as shown in the drawings. Incidental work includes endangered species monitoring, sea turtle nest relocations, turbidity monitoring, beach tilling, and vibration monitoring. Hopper dredges will not be allowed to work on this contract due to safety restrictions during the duration of the performance period. The magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED ACQUISTION. COAST GUARD CERTIFICATION OF VESSELS IS REQUIRED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SEAGOING BARGE ACT. ALL RESPONSIBLE BIDDERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE. This solicitation will be issued on or about 13 June 2013 with bides due on or about 16 July 2013. Solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be posted on the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) website: https://acquistion.army.mil/asfi/. In order to receive notification of any amendments to this solicitation, interested vendors must REGISTER AS AN INTERESTED VENDOR on the Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. If you are not registered, the Government is not responsible with providing you with notification of any changes to this solicitation.
