The backup point of contact is Patrick Staines at Patrick.staines@nist.gov. (End of Provision) BACKGROUND Exradin chambers have been used at NIST for many years as a reference class transfer standard. These Exradin chambers will be used as replacements to chambers that are currently used for our proficiency test program. The Exradin chamber design is the only type of chamber that will meet the needs of the NIST X-ray and gamma-ray facilities. Expertise has been developed using these chambers and extensive response histories have been accumulated. At this time, no other model can be substituted for these chambers, since the design is unique for the required use at NIST. See attachment for further details.
