Description

This Justification and Approval (J&A) covers the sole-source procurement of Ruggedized Marine Engineering Systems hardware from Intergraph Government Solutions (IGS). The Government anticipates award of a definite quantity �C � type contract, utilizing FAR Part 12, �Acquisition of Commercial Item � procedures and FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation procedures. The funding for this requirement is Operation and Maintenance (Navy) Fiscal Year 13. The hardware is of a type customarily used by the general public or by non-governmental entities for purposes other than governmental purposes. The parts being procured are variations of items sold to the general public. Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(1), this authority is appropriate when the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The application of this authority comes from FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(B) for when an award to any other source would result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency �s requirements. Awarded to IGS on 06/04/2013 in the amount of $1,120,068.00. See redacted J&A.
