Description

The South Texas VHCS intends to negotiate on a sole source basis for SPECTRAL-DOMAIN POLARIZATION-SENSITIVE RESEARCH OCT SYSTEM OPERATING AT 1300nm, to Wasatch Photonics., 1305 North 1000 West, Logan, UT 84321, under the authority of (FAR) 6.302-1 (Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This announcement constitutes the only notice; proposals are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The corresponding NAICS code is 339999-All Other Miscellaneous Manufacturing and the small business size standard is 500 Employees. The sole source determination is based on the fact that Wasatch Photonics is the only company that can provide an ultra-deep imaging range of 14.5 mm in air using Spectral Domain OCT at 1300nm. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. Written responses shall be submitted electronically NO LATER THAN 9:00 A.M. EASTERN STANDARD TIME June 6, 2013 to lynn.portman@va.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
