- Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site: Supply Eastern White Pine and White Oak Milled Lumber to Saugus Iron Works, Saugus, MA and White Oak Logs to Mystic Seaport, Mystic, CT Paper copies of the Request for Quotation (RFQ) will not be issued but the RFQ will be available on the FedConnect website (https://www.fedconnect.net/FedConnect/Default.htm) without further notice on or about June 20, 2013. The Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS) intends to issue RFQ P13PS00931 to obtain Eastern White Pine and White Oak Milled Lumber and White Oak Logs. The lumber is to be vertically sawn with no circular saw marks and must be free from decay, loose knots, cluster knots and checks greater than 2 in length. The logs shall be straight with as little sweep as possible to achieve finish dimension after turning and must be free from decay and large checks and solid throughout the tree suitable for turning. The logs must be checked and cleared for any metal objects that may be embedded within the tree that could damage equipment during turning. The Eastern White Pine and Milled White Oak Lumber shall be delivered to the Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site, 244 Central Street, Saugus, MA 01906-2107. The White Oak Logs shall be delivered to Mystic Seaport, 75 Greenmanville Avenue, Mystic, CT 06355. Delivery for both locations shall be completed within 15 days after receipt of purchase order award. This effort will be solicited as a total small business set aside for a firm fixed priced purchase order to the lowest priced quoter under NAICS code 321113 with a 500 employee size standard. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. No hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed or issued. It is therefore, the contractors responsibility to check the internet site daily for any posted changes to the RFQ specifications. It is the responsibility of all quoters to acknowledge ALL amendments to the RFQ. No response to this notice is necessary and no source list will be maintained. Prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (www.SAM.gov) system prior to award of a Government contract. Potential quoters are further advised that failure to register in the SAM database will render your firm ineligible for award. Registration requires applicants to have a DUNS number. It is recommended that your firm register immediately in order to be eligible for award. This announcement does not constitute the solicitation.
