Description
Amendment 0002 is being issued to provide answers to industry's questions as followed: 1) How high is each crane? A: I do not have the data on the height of ea of the 63 cranes at YPG. I do know that the highest crane is approximately 30 to 40 ft up to the base and it requires a boom lift to reach it. The remainder of the cranes can be reached with a scissor lift, there are 5 to 6 cranes have ladder access and some of the hoists that can be reached with a regular ladder. 2) Do I have access to each crane? A: There is access to the cranes with reasonable advanced notice for the QAE to arrange for the access. It will require the use of a scissor lift, boom lift and a ladder to access them and escort is required to accompany the technician. 3) Do I need a scissor lift or Boom lift for each crane? Or both? A: It will require a boom lift for one crane and a scissor lift for many of the other cranes. 4) Can we submit the proposal electronically? A: Yes, it is preferred. 5) Annual inspections require a load test, are just when the Gov request it. A: It is not required to perform a load test during an annual inspection. Function tests are required for approximately eight Hoists in the Ammo division consisting of lifting a characteristic load holding it at a appropriate height for one minute, maneuvering it in a manner which will simulate the operation of the lifting device with an inert item equal to or heavier than the heaviest item normally lifted as its characteristic load and lower it to its original position. The inert weight should be no more than 300lbs. Load tests will be performed at the request of the government when major repair are performed on the cranes. 6) What rental equipment needed to get to crane or are you going to provide it. A: YPG will not supply the equipment and it is up to the awarded contractor as to the preference of the equipment it will rent. It will be necessary to reach one crane, to have equipment that will safely reach forty feet, most other cranes 20 plus feet. 7) On the Annual Inspections is Load Testing required as part of the inspection or is this going to be a the government's request. 8) What are the acceptable means for delivery of the Quotation for this RFQ. A: An acceptable means of delivery would be electronic submissions. 9) Confirmation of Wage determination for service contract: 23530 - Machinery Maintenance Mechanic $ 24.66 23580 - Maintenance and Trades Helper $ 15.06 We will be submitting a bid based on the above classifications and rates. Are these the established rates to use for this contract? A: The wage determination is the minimum paid by contractors and subcontractors to laborers and mechanics in the Yuma, Arizona. The contractor is required to propose the labor categories and rates.
