Solicitation Number: W52P1J13R0111 Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis: SOURCES SOUGHT MS3314 and MK3-0 Lugs, Suspense, Aircraft Ordnance. Narrative: This is a sources sought announcement performed by the United States Army Contracting Command in support of identifying interest in manufacturing the MS3314 and MK3-0 Lugs, Suspense, Aircraft Ordnance. The end users of these items are The United States Navy and The United States Air Force. The Government anticipates a single 5 yr contract with production quantities for MS3314 of 15,000-100,000 and MK3-0 of 4,000-25,000. MS3314 and MK3-0 Lugs, Suspense, Aircraft Ordnance are identified by the following DODIC, Part Number (PN) and NSN: MS3314 Lug, Suspense DODIC: G261, P/N: MS3314, NSN: 1325-00-116-4452 MK3-0Lug, Suspense DODIC: G273, P/N: 1380540, NSN: 1325-00-684-1364 Description: The MS3314 Lug, Suspense, Aircraft Ordnance attaches to the 500 lb and 1000 lb General Purpose and practices bombs to suspend the bombs from fighter jets. The MS3314 Lug is a 4340 steel forging, approximately 2.375 inches long, approximately 1.75 inches in diameter with a 1.75-12-UNC-3A rolled thread. Specialized skills required are plating, heat treating, machining, metal forging and testing. The MK3-0 Lug, Suspense, Aircraft Ordnance attaches to the 2000lb General Purpose and practices bombs to suspend the bombs from fighter jets. The MK3-0 Lug is a 4340 steel forging, approximately 3.62 inches long, approximately 2.5 inches in diameter with a 2.5-12-UN-3A rolled thread. Specialized skills required are plating, heat treating, machining, metal forging and testing Responses: A respondent to this sources sought must have available the skills required to perform all production & testing operations. These skills must be available with sufficient experience and proficiency to produce these items in a timely and efficient manner. A respondent must also have available the appropriate maintenance, tooling, and manufacturing engineering skills required to support quality production of these items. Interested companies should provide any minimum production requirements and any production limitations; they should also note any significant lead times with equipment or materials associated with production of the MS3314 and MK3-0 Lugs, Suspense, Aircraft Ordnance. Interested companies should respond by providing the government the following information: a brief summary of the company's capabilities (a description of the facilities, personnel experience, quality system and past manufacturing experience) and their availability. If a respondent does not have adequate resources (facilities, technical, manufacturing, personnel, etc.) available, then they must be able to demonstrate their ability to obtain those resources without significant delay. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of sub-tier vendors or subcontractors, they must identify which items they plan on subcontracting. The government will utilize the information provided only to develop the acquisition strategy for future requirements. All submissions are requested to be made electronically and shall be made within 30 calendar days from the date of this publication. All information submitted will be held in a confidential status.
