Description
The Natchez Trace Parkway, a unit of the National Park Service, seeks a contractor to provide all materials, labor, and equipment for Radio Communications System Maintenance and Services along the 444 mile Parkway that extends through Mississippi, Alabama, & Tennessee. Magnitude of this project is $500,000 to $750,000. The applicable NAICS code for this project is 811213 with a size standard of $10 Million. INTRODUCTION: The Government plans to solicit and award a contract to provide for radio communications system maintenance and support services on the Natchez Trace Parkway headquartered in Tupelo, MS. The solicitation will consist of a base and four option periods, with the base period covering October 1, 2013 thru September 30, 2014. Each option period should increase in price by no more than 2.5% due to inflation. For this effort, the government anticipates awarding a firm fixed price contract for the required services. SCOPE OF WORK: This project is located on the Natchez Trace Parkway (NATR) within the states of Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. This service contract requirement project will provide all resources and management necessary for turn-key radio communications system maintenance and support services for the Natchez Trace Parkway. The selected Service Provider shall service, repair and maintain the Natchez Trace Parkway radio communications system including all radios, consoles, microwave transmission equipment and VHF repeater equipment, system infrastructure, backup generators, batteries, monitoring equipment, towers, tower lighting, and all other equipment and devices that together make up the radio communications system. The system shall be maintained at a level consistent with OEM specifications and communications industry standards, including the Motorola R-56 standard. The functionality of the Radio Communications System at the Natchez Trace Parkway is critical in the performance of the mission and the operation of the Parkway. The system is primarily used by Ranger Law Enforcement Officers spread out over 444-miles of Parkway, and also serves as the main command and control tool for senior Park managers in directing resources where life safety issues may be at stake. This notice is not the solicitation, the solicitation will be posted on or about June 22, 2013, with Request for Proposals due on July 22, 2013. The Government will use the tradeoff process for this source selection. Award will be made to the responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation requirements and provides the best value to the Government considering the stated technical factors and price.
