- THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE POSTED ON OR ABOUT JUNE 07, 2013. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Forests Service is requesting quotes for application of biomass (i.e. wood shreds and chips) to mitigate post-fire erosion concerns within the Pole Creek Fire that occurred in 2012 on the Sisters Ranger District of the Deschutes National Forest. The intent of the Government is to award a firm fixed price end product contract that will mitigate erosion concerns within designated areas of the Pole Creek Fire perimeter. Work includes, but is not limited to spreading approximately 2,630 cubic yards of wood shreds and chips to approximately75 acres along Pole and Snow Creeks. The desired application is a strip application, actual treated acres will be approximately 38 acres, coverage of no more than 1-inch depth of wood shreds and chips on the landscape. There are currently 2 locations of stockpiled wood chips and shreds. These locations currently range from 1-1.9 miles away from designated application sites. PROJECT LOCATION: Project will be located within the Deschutes National Forests on the Sisters Ranger District approximately 10 miles southwest of Sisters, OR. Designated application areas are along Pole and Snow Creeks. Contractors shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, transportation, supplies (unless specified elsewhere as Government furnished), and incidentals required to accomplish specified work in compliance with the terms, specifications, and provisions of the contract.
