- Exterior mortar joints at and above the second floor are failing, thus allowing water to penetrate the exterior wall and cause effloresences damage to interior finishes. The area most affected by this damage is along the north and west walls from the MIS offices to the Center Director's office. Scope of work : Repoint mortar joints on the exterior of the building along the affected area, which is approximately 1,800 SF. Analyze existing mortar to determine original sand color and match new mortar to existing. Remove existing mortar in damaged areas to a depth of no more than 1/2 inch. Clean joints and apply new mortar, matching existing joint profile. Replace face bricks as needed. Deadline for Bids will be the 1st of August 2013 @ 4:00PM EST Questions must be submitted by the 21st of June @ 4:00PM via email to Hunter.Greg@JobCorps.Org.
