- SCOPE OF WORK Cathodic Protection System Repair 575-13- VA Medical Center Grand Junction, Colorado This contract shall provide for the removal of existing Anodes, five (5) and replacement of same five (5) with equivalent units to provide corrosion protection for both the underground fuel tanks and steam distribution system, per (NACE) standard RP-02895 at The V.A. Medical Center, Grand Junction, Colorado. The contractor shall be responsible for the following key items/procedures in accordance with plans and specifications: A.Contractor shall be responsible for disposal of all demolished material. B.Contractor shall receive approval from COR for any materials used other then direct replacements. C.Contractor shall provide all approved safety equipment required to complete this project, to include but not limited to Barricades, Signage, Fencing, Lock-out and tag-out systems. D.Contractor shall be responsible for sub-surface excavation required for replacement of units, and restoration of existing anode field, to include restoration of any damage to grounds, pavement, walkways and sprinkler systems. E.Contractor shall provide certification of function of all equipment installed. Narrative The contractor shall furnish all equipment, labor and materials required to remove the existing anodes five (5), and installation of five (5) new or equivalent units in the same locations. All work will be done in accordance with (NACE) standard RB-028595; Control of External Corrosion on Metallic buried, partially buried or submerged liquid storage systems. Contractor will coordinate all work through the COR of Facilities Management Service. Contractor is responsible for all cleanups and refuse disposal throughout the construction period. Exclusions General All work will be coordinated through Facilities Management Service. Davis-Bacon wage rates to apply. The delivery date for this contract shall be forty five (45) days from Notice to Proceed. Accreditation and certification (C&A) is NOT required. Specifications/References Drawings/Documents GJ SITE Grounds GENERAL All design and work will conform to the current edition of the VA Master Specifications and VA Design Standards as published at the following site: www.cfm.va.gov, IBC 2009, NFPA, and NEC building codes and standards.
