Description
THIS PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR REVIEWING AND PRINTING IN APPROXIMATELY 15 DAYS. Leavitt Meadows Trail Bridge Replacement The purpose and intent of this solicitation is to contract for the construction and installation of a prefabricated weathering steel truss pedestrian bridge with wood deck. The bridge is 80' long with a 6' clear inside width and 54" tall minimum AASHTO handrails. Loading is 85psf Live and 160psf Snow. The abutments are cast-in-place concrete on compacted native material or anchored to bedrock with wing walls. Approach fill leading onto the bridge at each end is required. Additionally the existing steel truss bridge with wood deck and wood approach spans is to be removed. The main span of the existing bridge is approximately 51' long with 16' approach spans. The concrete abutments will be left in place. The new bridge will be approximately 85' downstream from the existing crossing. No work in the water is permitted. All access to the far side of the river is via the existing trail bridge and temporary connector trail to be constructed by the contractor. The new bridge has fairly open crane access framed by large trees that cannot be disturbed. The existing bridge is located down the slope with large trees on all corners. The project is located on the Bridgeport Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, Mono County, California in Section 27, Township 6 N, Range 22 E, Mt. Diablo Meridian. The bridge spans the West Walker River at the Leavitt Meadows Campground. The project is approximately 25 miles north of Bridgeport, California via U.S. Highway 395 and State Route 108. Per FAR 36.204 - Disclosure of Magnitude of Construction Projects, the estimated price of this award is between $100,000 and $250,000. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies, and incidentals to perform all work necessary on the areas specified. All aspects of the work program shall be performed in an organized, systematic manner to assure services will be performed over the entire unit.
