Description
The Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP), measures ocean currents. It must have 4 acoustic transducers capable of measuring currents to a distance of 2 to 100 meters from the instrument. 4 beams are required to allow currents to be resolved into a 3 component velocity vector and provide additional information for an error detection and correction algorithm which is used in real-time processing to reject outlier points on a ping to ping, bin by bin basis. The instrument must have selectable vertical spatial resolution of.5 to 8 meter bin size, and have a ping rate of up to 10 Hz for individual velocity pings. Velocity must be resolved to.1 m/.s with accuracy of.5% +/-.5 cm./s and single ping standard deviation must be 15 cm/s or less for a 1 meter bin size. The instrument must also be capable of measuring instrument tilt in a range of +/- 15 degrees with an accuracy of +/-.5 degrees and resolution of.01 degrees, and capable of measuring instrument heading accurate to +/- 2 degrees and resolution of.01 degrees to allow velocities to be corrected for instrument tilt and heading. Temperature measurement range must be -2 to 40 degrees C, with accuracy of.5 degrees C and resolution of.01 degrees C. The instrument must have an operating temperature range of -2 to 40 degrees C, and storage temperature range of -30 to 60 degrees C and a depth rating of 200 meters. Communications must be via RS232 with baud rate in the range of 9600 to 57600 baud and data must be retrievable in real-time. PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED RFQ FOR COMPLETE DETAILS.
