Description
Point of Use Machine Procurement, Installation and Warranty Sources Sought Synopsis NOTICE: This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 333318, size standard 1000. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code. Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. The Ogden Air Logistics Complex Contracting Directorate is conducting market research to determine if this effort can be unrestricted competition and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside to provide the government with: 1) Automated point of use (POU) cabinets which will supply bench-stock, expendable tools, tool boxes, and common use materials. The POU cabinets must be able to provide the following options : a) allow users to weigh items being taken out of the cabinet then accurately decrease quantity from the current inventory; b) touch screen controls to allow users an easier process for accessing items; c) Custom Sizable Lockers to allow the ability to automate items such as laptops, tool kits, tools, or any item that would not fit in the normal cabinet configuration; d) Expendable Items Take and Return, in which returned items will be queried as to whether serviceable or non-serviceable. If serviceable, the item will return to inventory and then be issued to the next user requesting it. If non-serviceable, the item is locked out and unable to be issued until replaced with a new item.   2) Ability to purchase and install associated software product that will manage the entire POU product line and associated inventory. This software platform will reside at a single location with the intention to manage the POU machines at multiple networked locations using a dedicated server on a secured subnet. 3) POU cabinets able to interface with AutoCrib.net software. This is an effort to standardize across the Maintenance Complexes. 4) Installation of the POU cabinets at a given location and insure all options ordered operate normally and the POU cabinet interfaces to AutoCrib.net software. 5) Standard commercial warranty period. The Government shall not reimburse the costs of preparing responses to this request for information. The Ogden Air Logistics Complex Contracting Directorate (AFMC), Hill Air Force Base (AFB), Utah, intends to issue a formal RFP for acquisition to procure automated point of use (POU) cabinets and software management to which is able to connect to AutoCrib.net. The information in this notice is based on the best and most current information available to date. This information is subject to change and is not binding to the Government. Updated information will be provided in future announcements and posted electronically on the Federal Business opportunities homepage at www.fbo.gov. The Government requests interested parties to submit a letter of interest, brief statement of current capability and responses to the attached Capabilities Questionnaire. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. Interested and qualified sources should provide the following information: (1) company name, cage code, point of contact, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers, type of business and size; (2) a list of your most recent and relevant DoD or commercial contracts (not to exceed five) to include brief description, names, POCs, phone numbers, value & type of contract, and period of performance; (3) information about your company and why you think you can perform this service; (4) if your warranty is outside of the commercial norm, please indicate what your warranty is; and (5) Can you provide a cataloged price list of your parts?
