Description
Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA is conducting a market survey to determine the availability of small businesses to fulfill the requirement. A company must have the capability to design and provide a design package including software and all drawings, first articles and production, and critical spares for eight (8) motor controllers supporting 325 HP motor, for Advanced Secondary Propulsion Units aboard an SSN23. Interested firms are requested to submit a capability statement outlining their ability to meet or exceed this potential requirement, specifically addressing the following no later than 12:00 pm (Pacific Standard Time), 01 July 2013, stating their business size, as well as a point of contact: 1) The company's facility security clearance level. To be eligible for this contract, the company must have a Facility Security Clearance of Confidential. 2) Describe the company's technical capability and past experience in designing and producing motor controllers, specifying the power densities of the past motor controllers. 3) Describe the company's technical capability and past performance in designing software for motor controllers, specifying what motor controllers that you have designed software for in the past and the capability and function of the software. 4) What relevant Navy Programs are you our currently work on (i.e. Office of Naval Research Compact Power Conversion Technologies, DDG 1000 Integrated Power System (IPS) program, etc)? 5) Please briefly describe your companies experience with the following documents and specify and whether you have experience designing and testing to the requirements: -MIL-E-2036 Revision D, Enclosures for Electric and Electronic Equipment, Naval Shipboard -MIL-DTL-2212 Revision J, Contactors and Controllers, Electric Motor AC or DC, and Associated Switching Devices -NAVSEA S9074-AR-GIB-010/278, Requirements for Fabrication Welding and Inspection, and Casting Inspection and Repair for Machinery, Piping, and Pressure Vessels -DOD-STD-1399, Section 300B, Interface Standard for Shipboard Systems Electric Power, Alternating Current -MIL-STD-461 Revision F, Requirements for the Control of Electromagnetic Interference Characteristic of Subsystem and Equipment -MIL-STD-1474 Revision D, Department Of Defense Design Criteria Standard Noise Limits -MIL-STD-740-2(SH), Structureborne Vibratory Acceleration Measurements and Acceptance Criteria of Shipboard Equipment -SEAWOLF Class Project Peculiar Document No. 802-6335704, Shock Tests, H. I. (High Impact) Shipboard Machinery, Equipment and Systems, Requirements for -MIL-STD-31000, Detail Specification, Technical Data Packages -MIL-S-901 Revision D, Shock Tests, H.I. (High Impact), Shipboard Machinery, Equipment, and System Requirements for -SS-473, Revision K or later, Specification for Software The Government will use the results of this announcement to determine whether the acquisition of the above-described requirement should be solicited as a small business set-aside, or whether full and open competitive procedures should be utilized. The Government will not pay or provide reimbursement for any costs incurred in the preparation or delivery of the request for information.
