Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT: Supervisor of Shipbuilding, C&R, USN intends to award a firm-fixed price contract in accordance with FAR 13.302 to Schoellhorn-Albrecht Machine Co., Inc., 1141 Reco Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63126. Schoellhorn-Albrecht has been identified as the only responsible source that can provide the following item(s): 1 set, LCS Bow Casting Pattern in accordance with Schoellhorn-Albrecht drawing 0403-2-161-002 rev B to support New Construction for the Littoral Combat Ship Program. This acquisition is being conducted under the FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) on another than full and open competitive basis. This acquisition is Set-Aside 100% for Small Business. This action will be classified under North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) 332312 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 Employees. Only one responsible source is reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). It is anticipated that award will take place on or before 28 June 2013. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation no later than 5 days after the date of publication of this notice which shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Based on the above, the only technically acceptable system is provided by Schoellhorn-Albrecht Machine Co., Inc.
