THE NAICS CODE FOR THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS 335999. THE CUSTOMER IS REQUESTING 24 ENCLOSURES TO HOUSE BIOMARK IS1001 (ANTENNA CONTROL NODES) CIRCUIT BOARDS. THESE ENCLOSURES WILL NEED TO BE STRONG ENOUGH TO RESIST FRACTURE AND LEAKING, WHILE PERMANENTLY MOUNTED TO EARTH ANCHORS, UNDERWATER IN HARSH ENVIRONMENTS. BASED UPON THE RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, THE GOVERNMENT MAY DETERMINE TO SET THIS ACQUISITION ASIDE OR PROCEED WITH AN UNRESTRICTED REQUEST FOR QUOTES. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES, BUT A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. INTERESTED PARTIES MUST INCLUDE 1) BUSINESS NAME, ADDRESS, CAGE CODE, SIZE CLASSIFICATION, SOCIOECONOMIC CLASSIFICATION, AND A POINT OF CONTACT, 2) A STATEMENT OF YOUR INTENT TO SUBMIT A QUOTE FOR THIS SOLICITATION AS A CONTRACTOR, AND 3) ATTACHMENTS INDICATING THE COMPANY'S CAN COMPLETE THE STATEMENT OF WORK. ALL INTERSTED PARTIES MUST RESPOND TO THIS NOTICE BY 6/26/2013/8AM PST. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FP7300-13-RQ-02905 Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis: Customer is requesting 24 enclosures to house Biomark IS1001 (Antenna Control Nodes) circuit boards. These enclosures will need to be strong enough to resist fracture and leaking, while permanently mounted to earth anchors, underwater in harsh environments. Technical Specifications: The enclosure must be large enough to house a Biomark IS1001 circuit board (size specifications available from manufacturer). Each enclosure must contain some means of mounting the circuit board securely within the enclosure. These enclosures need to be of stainless steel or stronger material to resist damage and corrosion while deployed continuously underwater at depths of up to 20' in large river systems. These enclosures must be easily re-enterable in the field, with hand tools, to allow for servicing/swapping of circuit boards. Each enclosure must also provide a method of connecting the enclosed IS1001 to an external antenna by way of a connector of at least two pins, rated at 11 amperes minimum. This antenna connector should be a male/female ‘wet pluggable' connector, with the female connector on the enclosure and the male connector supplied with each enclosure for use with NWFSC constructed antennas. The enclosure must also be supplied with an input CAN bus/power connector and an output CAN bus/power connector of at least six pins. These connectors must also be ‘wet pluggable', and supplied with the appropriate mating connector. Each enclosure must be no longer than 18 inches and no wider than eight inches, and include points of attachment for two or more anchoring straps. Deliverable Schedule: No later than 7/15/2013 Firms who believe they have a product that will meet all the requirements specified herein, including weight, and function, and delivery must furnish detailed information concerning their capability to provide the supply and satisfy the Government's needs. Along with descriptive literature on the equipment being offered must be provided. In addition shall include name, telephone number and address of concerns for which you have furnished this type of equipment previously. Interested parties must respond within (5) days after publication of this notice. The Western Administrative Division requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM).
