- Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) intends to make a sole source award to (SNR) Denton US LLP. This is a continuation of services. The contractor shall continue providing Outside Legal Counsel Services in regard to the completion of the PBGC vs. American Airlines settlement. The contractor shall provide advice and Counsel in matters pertaining to the settlement. Dentons has served as PBGC's counsel throughout the pendency of this case. PBGC continues to require the firm's valuable assistance, and specialized expertise and knowledge of this complex and longstanding case. We will need Denton's in connection with continuing negotiations and, in the event those negotiations fail, future litigation with the plaintiffs. The contract action is being sought under FAR 6.302-3(a) (2) (iii) Industrial Mobilization; engineering, developmental, or research capability; or expert services. To acquire services of an expert or neutral person for any current or anticipated litigation or dispute. The Period of Performance is August 29, 2013 - August 28, 2014. This is not a request for proposals but a Notice of Intent. No solicitation will be issued. Interested parties may, however, request further information (no later than 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, on June 27, 2013) by email to the Contract Specialist, Teesa Roberts at Roberts.Teesa@pbgc.gov.
