- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source Firm Fixed-Price Contract (FFP) Purchase Order The Food and Drug Administration's Office of Acquisition and Grant Services intends to issue a sole source award to Leica Microsystems for a Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope Service Maintenance Agreement for one Base year and two Option years: • Availability of maintenance service for Leica CLSM equipment during normal workdays, Monday through Friday, excluding Leica observed holidays. • Parts replacement as required on an exchange or new part basis (at the sole discretion of Leica Microsystems), excluding consumables and objectives. • One preventative maintenance inspection per annual maintenance. • Factory trained Service representatives perform axial resolution measurements (using Leica Microsystems supplied objectives) as well as laser power measurements to confirm optimum system performance. • Coverage for HeNe 633, 543, 594, and Ar 458/488/514 lasers. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 428a, FAR 13.501(a). The estimated dollar value for this action is not to exceed $85,000. This will result in a contract for a one year. The projected award date is July 19, 2013.
