- The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract with GE Medical Systems Information Technologies to purchase an upgrade to the existing GE MAC 5500 Electrocardiograph (ECG) systems and purchase additional ECG systems to complete a VISN 10 mandated expansion to wireless MUSE capability. The Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center Columbus (VAACC) is seeking wireless and High Definition (HD) upgrade packages (hardware and software) to our existing ECG inventory within the Ambulatory Care Center and our four (4) Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). Additionally, the facility is purchasing three (3) new systems to support clinical expansion. This procurement includes: MAC 5500 Upgrades, New MAC 5500HD ECG Systems, Mobile Link Network install, MAC 55UP MOBILELINK, Product Training and Associated product and Technical Support. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 541519. The Government believes that GE Medical Systems Information Technologies is the only provider that can satisfy the agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source for the required upgrades. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. To the best of our knowledge, GE Medical Systems Information Technologies is the only source that provides the above indicated services/supplies. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within ten (10) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VA Ambulatory Care Center, 420 N. James Road, Columbus, Ohio 43219-1834 or faxed to 614.388.7500. Responses received will be evaluated however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA Ambulatory Care Center Columbus will proceed with the sole source negotiation with GE Medical Systems Information Technologies.
