Description
SPECIAL NOTICE INDUSTRY DAY MAINTENANCE DREDGING BALTIMORE HARBOR 2013-2014 INSIDE CHANNELS The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District would like to invite dredging industry contractors to participate in an Industry Day for the FY13-FY14 Baltimore Harbor Maintenance Dredging Project. This event is not a marketing opportunity. The event will be held on July 23, 2013 at the Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility at 10:00 AM. The proposed procurement is unrestricted NAICS 237990 with an estimated cost of services between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. Pending available funds, approximately 1,000,000 cubic yards of material consisting primarily of mud, silt, sand, shell, and mixtures thereof would be dredged by clamshell and scow, hydraulic pipeline, and/or hopper dredge. Approximately 500,000 cubic yards of material removed from the proposed dredging of the Brewerton Channel would be placed at the State of Maryland 100 acre Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility (DMCF), located in Anne Arundel County. Approximately 500,000 cubic yards of material removed from proposed dredging of Fort McHenry, West, and East Channels would be placed at the 100 acre Masonville DMCF, located in Baltimore City near Brooklyn Park. Maryland Port Administration is responsible for meeting effluent quality standards for each DMCF in accordance with their discharge permits issued by Maryland Department of the Environment. The purpose of this event will be to seek dredging industry input regarding best practices for placement of dredged material at each facility. Recirculation is required from within the Cox Creek DMCF and is optional for the Masonville DMCF. Prospective bidders shall notify Mr. Jeff Wiggin by email (Jeff.Wiggin@usace.army.mil) if you plan to attend along with the amount of attendees from your company.
