- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) intends to award a noncompetitive contract to Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). The USGS National Geospatial Program (NGP) seeks support through which the Federal government and a broad consortium of private industry will share resources and work together to further the implementation of Internet-based geospatial standards in meeting operational scenarios, mission needs, performance, interoperability and geospatial community standardization. The Open Geospatial Consortium is a globally unique international geospatial standards development and testing organization with the diverse participation of commercial, academic, and government participants and specific expertise in geographic and geospatial information systems and specifications. No other organization offers this capability for participation and co-development. Questions may be addressed in writing to the Contracting Officer by email (Lmccarthy@usgs.gov). A Request for Proposal will be made available to OGC on or about July 15, 2013. The NAICS Code is 813910. The anticipated period of performance is 12 months from date of contract award with four one-year options. Numbered note 22 applies.
