Description
SYNOPSIS: Invasive Asian Carp Laboratory Equipment Supplies NOTICE: THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT, NOT AN RFQ. The intent of this notice is to inform the vendor community of USFWSs proposed contract action. This proposed procurement is for items which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(b)(1). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than July 8, 2013, 1:00 pm CST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The US Fish & Wildlife Service intends to award a sole source contract to Life Technologies Corporation., based on FAR 6.302.1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The purpose of this procurement is to provide the necessary consumable lab supplies for use with the Life Technologies E-gel systems, the size select E-gel systems and the 3500 automatic sequencer instruments in the lab. The supplies included in this procurement are fast advanced master mix, custom probes, polymerase, agarose gels, quantitative DNA ladder, anode buffer containers and cathode buffer containers all exclusively for use with the Life Technologies 3500 automatic sequencer instrument. These supplies are required for meeting requirements for confirming positive detections of carp DNA in environmental samples as outlined in the Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) for the Environmental DNA (eDNA) Monitoring of Invasive Asian Carp in the Chicago Area Waterway System (CAWS). The QAPP outlines detailed procedures for the planning, collection, filtering, processing, and reporting of the eDNA samples.
