Description

SI Network Pricing Sheet. SI Solicitation No. F13SOL10029 - Equinix Internet Provider The Smithsonian Institution ("SI"), through their Office of The Chief Information Officer ("OCIO"), has a requirement for a variety of technical, professional, non-personal Telecommunications Services related to the ongoing upgrade of its existing network infrastructure which predominantly consists of carrier provided circuits that are both costly and difficult to manage / sustain during natural disasters for other emergencies. Therefore, it is the SI's intent to link its currently leased fiber pairs through direct connection to two (2) Tier 1 carrier networks using 10Gbps Ethernet connections and 1Gbps access rates, with 3% burst to 10Gbps during peak times in a month. By utilizing two (2) Tier one carriers, the SI OCIO hopes to ensure fault tolerance should a carrier's backbone have routing issues in the global BGP routing mesh. To this end, the SI hereby intends to award two (2) FIRM-FIXED price Contracts--one (1) Contract each---to those respective Offerors best able to furnish all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment necessary to provide the referenced Services.
