Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE TO SSK MILITARY INDUSTRIES, INC. FOR CYPRES 2 2-PIN MILITARY 1500 ™ 35m/s Abs Part Number AAD2C2M1535A The NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center, San Diego, CA intends to negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 6.302-1) with SSK MILITARY INDUSTRIES, INC., Lebanon, OH 45036. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS Cypres 2 offers the following: 1. Activation altitudes. 2. Activation velocities. 3. User interface (single push button). 4. Loop cutting system. 5. CYPRES closing loop. 6. 14 hours run time. 7. Self-test is completed in 10 seconds. 8. Changing altitude reference-same procedure but faster. 9. Unit is water resistant for 15 minutes at a depth of 15 feet (5 meters) in fresh and salt water. 10. Power supply of CYPRES 2 is maintenance-free for the user. There is no need to observe a replacement date, record the number of jumps made, monitor the voltage during self-test, purchase a battery, or have a rigger open or repack the reserve for this reason. 11. Unit serial number accessible from the display anytime you want to see it. 12. Next maintenance due date accessible from the display anytime you want to see it. 13. Reminds you when the maintenance date comes near. 14. Smaller and lighter. 15. Robust, rigger friendly case, with rounded comers and edges. 16. Extended maintenance window. +/- 6 months from month of manufacture, no down-time during the busy part of the year regardless of month of manufacture. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. In doing so, interested sources must submit technical capabilities, pricing, and other information that demonstrates their ability to meet the Fleet Logistics Center ™s needs. Detail technical information must be submitted to Charles E. Fletcher II, Contract Specialist, charles.e.fletcher@navy.mil, no later than 05 July 2013 by 4:00 PM (PST). It is imperative that detail technical information be provided. This synopsis is not to be considered a Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received by the closing date and time noted in this synopsis, a contract may be awarded to SSK MILITARY INDUSTRIES, INC.
