Description
This is not a solicitation or request for proposal/quote General Information: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Center for Program Integrity (CPI) invites interested industry representatives to participate in: CPI Industry Day 2013 Date/Time: Friday, July 26, 2013 - 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM Location: CMS Central Office, 7500 Security Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21244 (CMS Auditorium) Description: The CPI Industry Day is being conducted as part of market research in coordination with an upcoming Request for Information (RFI). The objective of the Industry Day is to introduce the CPI's vision and goals for strengthening the integrity of the Medicare and Medicaid Programs through improved contracting approaches and strategies. Specifically, the CPI seeks to integrate the program integrity functions for audits and investigations across Medicare and Medicaid. The objective of the RFI is to obtain input from industry representatives with expertise in and knowledge of auditing and health care data analysis and investigative methods, techniques, and processes used to prevent, detect, and combat fraud, waste, abuse, and overpayments in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. During the Industry Day, participants will have an opportunity to submit questions in response to presentations made by CMS personnel. Please note, CMS may not be able to address all questions in detail during the Industry Day and individual written responses will not be provided to attendees. However, questions are encouraged and the CMS will use the information as feedback while continuing to develop program requirements. The RFI, including instructions for submitting responses, is expected to be issued via the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) web site in July 2013. It is anticipated that the information obtained from both the RFI responses and Industry Day will be used to assist CMS in defining requirements and developing a Statement of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statement (PWS), or Statement of Objectives (SOO). Responding to the RFI and attendance at Industry Day is strictly voluntary and not a prerequisite for submitting an offer if, or when, a solicitation is released. However, attendance is highly encouraged as is responding to the RFI. This announcement, the Industry Day, and forthcoming RFI are for planning purposes only and do not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a solicitation will be issued. There is no entitlement to payment by the Government of direct or indirect costs incurred as a result of the submission of information in response to the RFI or attendance at the Industry Day. This announcement is not a contract, request for proposal, a promise to contract, or a commitment of any kind on the part of the Government. Registration: Registration to attend Industry Day is mandatory. Registration will begin on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 and will end on or before Friday, July 19, 2013. Registration may end prior to Friday, July 19, 2013 if full capacity is reached. Space is limited and registration will be handled on a first come, first served basis. Please limit the number of representatives from a single company to 2 attendees in order to allow as much participation as possible. Vendors will not be allowed to register on the day of the event or be permitted to attend the session without a reservation. Reservations are not transferable. Registration to attend in person must be completed via email to UnifiedContractor@cms.hhs.gov. Please provide your name, organization/employer, phone number, and email address. Please do not attend without confirmation of a reservation. The reservation confirmation will only be provided from the above noted email address. Those attending in person must enter through the Security Boulevard gate (right hand lane); provide a valid government-issued ID (such as a state-issued driver's license); and expect a full vehicle search. For those unable to attend in person, a limited number of conference call lines will be available; these will also be provided on a first come, first served basis via the above noted email address. To request conference call attendance, please send an email with your name, organization/employer, phone number, and email address to UnifiedContractor@cms.hhs.gov. Conference call reservation confirmation will only be provided from the above noted email address.
