- W9126G-13-B-0020 This Synopsis is for the project description below that will be 100 % set aside as an open competition for small business. This announcement seeks to provide information to industry, on forth coming business opportunities. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this announcement. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been tasked to solicit for procurement and award a project for repairs and construction. Place of Performance Corpus Christi Ship Channel, Placement Areas (PAs) 10 and 13, in Nueces County, Texas. The Solicitation will be issued on or about 19 July 2013. Response date is 19 Aug 2013 @ 2:00 PM. Estimated award date; subject to availability of funding, 24 Sep 2013. This Operations and Maintenance (O&M) / Non-Federal Sponsor (Sponsor) funded contract will involve rock stabilization at PAs 10 & 13 to reduce further erosion of the existing PA levees. PA 10 is a confined PA located just north of the intersection of the Corpus Christi Ship Channel and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. PA13 is a confined PA located on the northeast end of the La Quinta Channel. Both PAs are located near Ingleside, Texas. Both PAs are accessible only by water. Initial and daily mobilization and demobilization will by water. Levee protection at both PAs will involve cut and fill, with geotextile, riprap, and blanket stone installation. PA 10 has an estimated 3,500 linear feet of stabilization required with approximately 850 linear feet of stabilization at PA 13. Also, PA 13 will require additional earthwork to restore levee slopes where erosion has created vertical scarps. The contract will be managed out of the Corpus Christi Resident Office, Corpus Christi, Texas.
