Description
The VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements with JALI Medical Inc. of 85 Wells Avenue, Suite 200, Newton, MA 02159 for an Upgrade from Standard to super rapid 2 plus 1 including: duel power supply. Plus 1 Module ** (4040-00) single power supply will be returned to JALI Medical after the upgrade is delivered. This requirement will include the following characteristics: Product Description Purchase of the upgrade to the Super Rapid2 Plus1 Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Unit, with D702 Coil-Double 70mm2 Coil and Stand with Clamp. This is a system designed to produce safe, high frequency non-invasive brain stimulation. The system has been approved for use on human subjects involved in this clinical protocol at the VA Boston Geriatric Center's (GRECC-IRB#2657) Salient Characteristics This type of high frequency stimulation is believed to be more effective, more tolerable to patients. This type of stimulation results in equivalent or even lower rate of mild adverse symptoms, such as headache. The included light-weight coil, and coil stand will allow accurate stabilization that is essential for effective stimulation. This will allow continued compatibility to integrate with multiple clinical sources of data such as EEG, EMG and NIRS to better determine stimulation points on the brain. This will allow our stimulation to impact deeper into the brain structure with TMS. It is only system and distributor of that system in the USA that is compatible with our current system. This upgrade includes: The Super Rapid2 Plus 1 Power module upgrade The light-weight D702 Coil - Double 70mm2 Coil for stabilization The Air Film Coil Stand with Clamp for stabilization. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than 07/11/2013 @ 12:00pm. Responses should be sent to James.Corbett2@va.gov. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
