- THE U.S. GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE AWARD FOR THE FOLLOWING: FLIGHTLAB SOFTWARE UPGRADE AND SUPPORT on existing licenses from 1 September 2013 - 31 August 2014. FLIGHTLAB is a flight simulation program that stands in the critical path of the UH-60M AH-64D, CH-47D/F, and OH-58 platforms. FLIGHTLAB is also used for technology development to include load-sharing engine projects, sling load analysis, or studies to improve autorotation performance. Advanced Rotorcraft Technology, Inc. is the company that produces FLIGHTLAB, and is the sole source for the FLIGHTLAB package because it directly markets its own software rather than operating through resellers. FLIGHTLAB is used to support all aviation platforms supported by the Aviation Engineering Directorate. AED wishes to maintain its current licenses of FLIGHTLAB software with support as a supply item. Authority Cited: This justification meets the requirements of FAR 6.302-1 Reason for Authority Cited: FLIGHTLAB software is proprietary and unique only to one provider. This product is essential to mission requirements of the Aviation Engineering Directorate. Other similar products do not meet nor can be modified to meet these requirements.
