- PRESOLICITATION NOTICE PROJECT NAME: Ratzlaff/Rexford Wetlands Restoration MAGNITUDE OF PROJECT: Between $100,000 and $250,000 LOCATION: Ford and Meade Counties, Kansas SUMMARY: This project is for the restoration of wetlands through the Wetlands Reserve Program on two sites in Ford and Meade Counties, Kansas. Work will include mobilization and demobilization, well plugging, excavation, terrace smoothing, cover crop, chemical weed control, range planting, light disking, land clearing, and seeding and mulching. QUANTITIES: The project will consist of an estimated 14,136 cubic yards of excavation, 15,695 cubic yards of earthfill, 1.5 acres of land clearing, 56.4 acres of mowing, 32,884 linear feet of terrace smoothing, 18.4 acres of seeding and mulching, 46.0 acres of cover crop, 46.0 acres of chemical weed control, 46.0 acres of range planting, 250 linear feet of sediment control, 16.0 acres of light disking, and 140 feet of well plugging. TIME FRAMES/DATE: Performance time, including mobilization, weekends, holidays and days for inclement weather is 105 days, assuming 10-hour work-days. Tentative date for posting the solicitation packet is July 24, 2013, with bid opening on August 23, 2013. A site showing will be arranged prior to the bid date. Details will be provided in the solicitation package. Before an award can be made every contractor foreman's work crew must include an employee who has a current first aid certificate from the Mine Safety and Health Administration, American Red Cross, or other state-approved organization. Prospective contractors must obtain a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) Number. To obtain a DUNS number you can call 1-866-705-5711 or via the Internet at http://www.dnb.com. Prospective contractors must be registered and be active in the System for Award Management (SAM) in order to be eligible for award. Registration can be completed at the SAM website at https://www.sam.gov. Prospective contractors must also complete the annual representations and certifications electronically via SAM.
