Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The US Army Contracting Center, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division (NCD) on behalf of the Combat Feeding Directorate (CFD), located at the US Army Natick Soldier Systems Center is requesting responses from qualified sources capable of produce the creamy Cajun chicken pasta; fill and properly seal pouches provided by Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center (NSRDEC) with aforementioned creamy Cajun chicken pasta; and conduct subsequent retort, MATS, PATS, and irradiation sterilization processes on the filled pouches within 4 days of initial production. Two separate trials for each process (retort, MATS, PATS, irradiation) may be required. Retort, MATS, PATS, and irradiation processing trials will be required in year 1 with optional trials planned for year 2. Trials planned for year 2 are dependent on results obtained in year 1. A more detailed Statement of work is provided at Attachment 1. Required reporting procedures are provided in the Contract Data Requirements Lists at Attachment 2. The Government anticipates awarding a single Firm Fixed Price type contract for the attached Statement of Work (Attachment 1). The contract is to be performed over a 2 year period and will be incrementally funded. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 311991 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This combined synopsis/solicitation is issued as a full and open solicitation. The CLIN structure for this Contract is included as an Attachment 3. All quotes in response to this combined Synopsis/solicitation shall be submitted in the Excel Spread sheet that has been provided as Attachment 2.
