- Description
- NASA/GRC has a requirement for an annual service/maintenance agreement on NASA/GRC existing JEOL JXA-8200 Scanning Microprobe Instrument. NASA/GRC intends to purchase this service from JEOL USA, INC. PER FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). JEOL IS THE DEVELOPER AND MANUFACTURER OF THIS EQUIMENT. The service documentation is proprietary to JEOL USA and replacement parts can only be provided by them and only their trained service personnel can perform the necessary maintenance including repairs and calibration. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Proedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on July 16, 2013. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
