- Pre-Solicitation Advance Notice (7-3-13) Solicitation FQ13092/NA Procurement of Supplies: Surface Applied Truncated Dome Tiles WMATA contemplates issuing to acquire approximately 15,000 SF surface applied truncated dome tile for five above-ground metrorail stations: Grosvenor-Strathmore, Braddock Rd, Eisenhower Ave, Landover, and West Hyattsville. Each station will require an estimated 3,000 SF of American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant surface applied truncated dome tiles (2 sides x 600 LF x 2 feet wide strip = 2,400 SF + 600 SF wastage and spare). Delivery : Deliver FOB Destination to a WMATA facility within the periods cited below. A. Delivery 1: 8,000 SF ADA Tiles, Delivery Date: NTP+60 Calendar Days. •B. Delivery 2: 7,000 SF ADA Tiles, Delivery Date: NTP+90 Calendar Days Product Requirements : A. Surface Applied Truncated Dome Tile shall meet or exceed the following test criteria using the most current test methods: •1) Compressive Strength: 26,000 PSI minimum, when tested in accordance with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D 695. •2) Flexural Strength: 25,000 psi minimum, when tested in accordance with ASTM D 790. •3) Water Absorption: Not-To-Exceed 0.10%, when tested in accordance with ASTM D 570. •4) Slip Resistance: 0.8 minimum wet/dry static coefficient of friction when tested in accordance with ASTM C 1028. •5) Tensile Strength: 11,000 PSI minimum, when tested in accordance with ASTM D638. •6) American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO): Test Method AASHTO-H20. •B. General Product Features •1) Material: Molded glass- and carbon-fiber-reinforced polyester. •2) Color: Deep red color matching samples on file with the WMATA Engineer Contractor must certify that the selected color meets a minimum 70% color contrast with the platform's granite edge. UV stable color. •3) Rectangular panel, 24 inches by 36 inches, •a. Edges beveled, •b. Slip-resistant surface treatment on domes and field of tile. •4) Dome Spacing and Configuration: American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant spacing pattern cited in the IFB. •5) Mounting: Adhered and fastened to existing walking surface. Each 24"x36" tile shall have a minimum of 8 countersunk holes for fasteners. At least 2 of the 8 countersunk holes shall be located along the longitudinal center line of each tile. The tile shall not be warped on any plain. WMATA contemplates issuing an IFB within the next 10 workdays. The proposal time-line has not been finalized but it will be very limited. The plan is to release the IFB on the WMATA procurement web site and FEDBIZOPS.gov: HARD COPY IFBs WILL NOT BE MAILED. Submittal of this information is not a mandatory IFB compliant requirement but may serve as an aid in accessing published IFB related notifications.
