- This contract action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because this is an order under an existing contract that was awarded using non-competitive procedures. This contract action was not awarded as a fixed price type because it was not possible to estimate accurately the extent or duration of the work or to anticipate costs with any reasonable degree of confidence. As such, a time-and-materials type action was awarded for non-commercial supplies and services (FAR 16.601(c)). This synopsis applies to all current and future task orders placed under contract W91215-09-D-0001 for the continued design, development, and maintenance of Advanced Mission Planning Tools (AMPT) for the Special Operations Mission Planning Office (SOMPO). On 15 May 2009, Westar Aerospace & Defense Group, Inc (Westar), Huntsville, Alabama, CAGE Code 67285, was awarded a five year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a maximum value of $10,000,000. The work will be performed at Westar in Huntsville, Alabama. The ordering period is from 15 May 2009 through 14 May 2014. This contract was awarded using other than full and open competition because the contract was a follow-on contract for work previously completed by Westar and seeking another vendor would have encountered unacceptable risks. As of 12 July 2013, 14 time and materials and firm fixed price task orders have been awarded with a total value of $4,657,106.20. Please contact the vendor for any subcontracting opportunities.
