Description
RFQ This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Written quotes are being requested. A hardcopy written RFQ will not be issued. The Northwest Fisheries Science Center located in Seattle, WA has a requirement an underwater acoustic USBL system with the following specifications: Underwater Acoustic USBL (Ultra Short Baseline) system that can operate and communicate in waters of at least 2,000 meters in depth with a slant range of 4,000 meters. The application for this system is as an independent tracking system attached to a ship-deployed AUV. The system should include ship transceiver, transponder for use on AUV, and related necessary software and deck cables. Transponder cannot exceed overall length of 49cm and weight of 5 kg. All bulkhead connectors on the transponder must be right angle connectors. The transponder should be self-powered with a battery life of at least one year and include at least one spare battery pack. The system should not be ITAR controlled. This procurement is 100% set aside for small business concerns under the North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 334511 with a small business size standard of 750 employees. The government intends to issue a firm fixed price order with delivery date of no later than Sept 15, 2013. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication. All quotations must be FOB destination, Seattle, WA 98115 and must be submitted by email to the Purchasing Agent, Maria L. Mendoza at Maria.l.mendoza@noaa.gov by 4:00 PM local Seattle time (PST), on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. This is a simplified acquisition. Questions of any nature must be addressed in writing as TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE HONORED. This notice is hereby issued as RFQ No.AB133F13RQ04040. The following provisions and clauses shall apply to this RFQ and resultant award.
