No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. In order to protect the procurement integrity of any future procurement, if any, that may arise from this announcement, information regarding the Technical Point of Contact will not be given and no appointments for presentations will be made. The Contractor shall perform and execute all aspects of drilling, logging support, and completing the test holes to government specifications. The test holes could be designed to be drilled to depth of up to 8,000 feet below ground surface (bgs). Test holes will be generally designed to reach approximately 5,000 feet. Deeper test holes will generally be designed to reach 6,000-8,000 feet, dependent on geologic conditions. Blowout prevention equipment (BOPE) will be required. Casing, tubing, piping, and cementing in accordance with standards and specifications will be used. The Contractor shall follow all of the specifications regarding safety and operations practices contained in the U. S. Geological Survey Geothermal Operational Order #2 (GRO #2), Drilling, Completing, and Spacing of Geothermal Wells. Drill sites may be located within the boundaries of active military range lands. The purpose of the geophysical test hole drilling includes seeking elevated subsurface temperatures, gathering geophysical down-hole data, chip samples, and possibly recovering fluid samples, so as to further delineate the area ™s geothermal resource potential.
