- The Bureau of Reclamation has a requirement for acoustic receiver, accompanying hydrophones, and acoustic transmitter to be used for active fish tracking for the San Joaquin River Restoration Program. The equipment MUST be compatible with VEMCO systems; it will be used in collaboration with other state and federal agencies currently using VEMCO systems including in-river VR2W receivers. These receivers are compatible only with 69 and 180 kHz acoustic transmitters. Please provide the below information to Jennifer McCord, jmccord@usbr.gov by noon (MST) on July 22, 2013. 0001 - 1 EA - Ultrasonic receiver used for tracking fish - Ultra Sonic used for tracking fish; compatible with directional or omnidirectional hydrophones capable of detecting 69 or 1180 kHz coded acoustic transmitters: chargeable, portable unit with battery life of greater than 8 hours, GPS/data logging capable with a back lit display which shows signal strength. Compatible with Windows XP/Vista/7; splash resistant. Items 0002-0005 are accessories to this item therefore items 0001-0005 must be compatible with each other. 0002 - 1 EA - Directional Hydrophone - Used for active tracking, capable of detecting 69 kHz acoustic transmitters underwater and compatible with item 0001. 0003 - 1 EA - OmniDirectional Hydrophone - Used for active tracking, capable of detecting 69 kHz acoustic transmitters underwater. Compatible with item 0001. 0004 - 1 EA - Directional Hydrophone - Used for active tracking, capable of detecting 180 kHz acoustic transmitters underwater and compatible with item 0001. 0005 - 1 EA - OmniDirectional Hydrophone - Used for active tracking, capable of detecting 180 kHz acoustic transmitters underwater. Compatible with item 0001. 0006 - 50 EA - 13mm diameter coded acoustic transmitter - capable of transmitting a single frequency of 69 kHz every 60 seconds; also capable of transmitting a unique ID with each transmission of specific tag; having a battery life of no less than 120 days.
