Description
The Contractor shall provide construction period services as defined by the contract drawings and specifications and scope of work for the demolition and new installation of the nurse call system on Ward-D at the VA Western NY Healthcare System (VAWNYHS), 222 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, New York 14020. Bids should include all labor, materials, tools, equipment, etc. A.Project Description The Ward-D nurse call upgrade shall include, but not be limited to the following improvements: 1)Selective demolition of existing systems on the 3nd floor, floor below, and adjacent areas, as necessary to accomplish the removal and installation of the entire nurse call system. Demolition and removal work of the entire existing system includes, but is not limited to, bedside call stations, emergency call stations, ceiling speakers, pillow speakers, duty station, corridor dome lights, master control station, and all associated wires, cables, conduits, and miscellaneous system components. 2)Installation of the new nurse call system shall include, but not be limited to, new bedside call stations, emergency call stations, ceiling speakers, pillow speakers, duty station, corridor dome lights, master control station, and all associated wires, cables, conduits, and miscellaneous system components for a complete nurse call system. 3)Nurse call upgrade shall include, but not be limited to, modification, replacement, or upgrade of building services and utilities including: heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment, ductwork, devices, and controls, plumbing supply, waste, vent piping, and fixtures and trim; medical gas piping and outlets; fire protection, alarm systems; electrical power, lighting, telecommunications, voice/data, and signal systems and spaces to house building service equipment and utility systems, to accommodate installation of new nurse call system. This procurement has been set aside 100% to Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns. Offers from other than Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns will NOT be considered and shall be rejected. Please pay particular attention to the evaluation section of this solicitation. Solicitation packages will be available via FedBizOpps.gov on or about September 16, 2013. All questions concerning this project MUST be in writing and NO phone calls will be accepted. Bids will be due no later than 11 am on local time on 9/16/13 at BATAVIA VA MEDICAL CENTER, RM106C, BLDG 2, 222 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, NY 14020. NAICS code is 238990 (Other Specialty Contractors). Size standard is $14.0 million. Project Cost Range is between $100,000-$250,000. A walk through will be scheduled and bidders are encouraged to attend it. It will be the only walk through scheduled. Walk through date will be listed on the solicitation. Please email Sabrina Brinkman at Sabrina.Brinkman@va.gov to confirm date and time of the scheduled walk through. Bidders should re-visit the website located at www.fedbizopps.gov periodically to look for updates. All requests for information are required to be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer and shall be received prior to the bid opening by the date specified in the solicitation. NO hardcopies, NO telephone inquiries or questions, ONLY in writing, will be accepted no later than ten (10 days) prior to bid opening. Award is subject to availability of funds. This project requires bonding and all bid submissions shall be made in triplicate hardcopies. Faxed or emailed bids will NOT be accepted.
