- SOURCES SOUGHT Notice to Interested Parties - This posting is a request for information only and does not constitute a formal request for proposal from B&W Pantex. BACKGROUND The Pantex Plant, located 17 miles northeast of Amarillo, Texas, is charged with securing America by providing the nation's nuclear deterrent. The facility is managed and operated by Babcock and Wilcox Technical Services Pantex, LLC (B&W PANTEX) for the United States Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA). The Pantex Plant supports four core missions: 1) National Security, 2) Nuclear Explosive Operations, 3) Nuclear Material Operations, and 4) High Explosive Operations. Daily operations involve work with nuclear weapons stockpile stewardship, plutonium pit storage, high explosives work, engineering, safety, security, facilities management, quality, environmental protection, and general administration. For purposes of achieving core mission objectives and in managing the Pantex Plant, B&W Pantex relies heavily on the usage of outside subcontractors and suppliers to provide necessary support services to Plant operations. STATED OBJECTIVE To better support the operational needs at Pantex Plant, B&W Pantex is seeking an interested party to supply, and service, powered material handling equipment on a lease program. The powered equipment would include, but not limited to, gasoline or diesel forklifts with weight ratings from 10,000 to 15,000 pounds, EE rated electric forklifts with weight rating from 3000 to 10,000 pounds, electric pallet jacks, stock pickers, and tow motors. Service of the equipment would include immediate replacement of equipment not operating properly. All equipment must be new, reliable, and meet all regulations and industry standards and safety regulations for manufacturing and Pantex specific requirements. As Pantex Plant is a nuclear facility, we specifically seek suppliers who are ASME NQA-1 2008 qualified and who meet the standard quality assurance requirements for nuclear facility applications.
