- Annual Software License for the Protein SILO (PSILO) from Chemical Computing Group. EPA Office of Research and Development and National Exposure Research Laboratory has been tasked within the Chemical Safety and Sustainability (CSS) program to elucidate relevant chemical space/domains of interest to the Agency with respect to human and ecosystem health. This effort requires software capabilities that will facilitate and enhance the current state of the science by utilizing available chemoinformatic and bioinformatic techniques within the framework of computational chemistry. The EPA has found software to meet these needs under order EP-13-D-00008, from Chemical Computing Group with PSILO, a protein structure database system. Chemical Computing Group is the producer and sole provider of MOE and PSILO for the US territory. They have had an agreement in place and have provided software to the EPA (MOE and more recently PSILO) since 2006. PSILO is a database system that provides an easily accessible, consolidated repository for macromolecular and protein-ligand structural information. It offers research organizations a means to systematically track, register and search both experimental and computational macromolecular structural data. A web-browser interface facilitates the searching and accessing of public and private structural data. Authority Cited: This justification meets the requirements of FAR 6.302-1
