Description
ABL-13246 RFQ SCA Wage Determination This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for services in which the government intends to award an order in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories has a BASE requirement to sequence the transcriptome of hearts from 8 individual fish from each of 5 treatments (4 oil doses plus 1 control, 40 individuals total). Transcriptome assembly and annotation can be based on existing sequence data for the closely related rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and comparison to other teleost genomes. Following transcriptome assembly and annotation, a pathways analysis will be completed to identify all genes that are expressed significantly differentially among the treatment groups. Specific tasks and deliverables: Gene sequence data for hearts from 40 fish (8 fish/treatment × 5 treatments); Map the pink salmon reads to the rainbow trout assembly; Analyze read count data and differential expression; Full report detailing all significantly differentially expressed genes among experimental conditions; Biology-driven bioinformatics analysis of pink salmon cardiac transcriptome in reference to oil exposure; Pathways analysis; Identify novel and relevant interaction networks specific to cardiac conditions in this experiment. See attached RFQ AND statement of work for complete description of SERVICES.
