- The Department of Veteran's Affairs Contracting Section, 7201 I-40 West, Ste 100, Amarillo TX, intends to solicit proposals (bids) from small business contractors to remove old floor coverings and install new flooring materials for Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System in Tucson, AZ. Contractor shall furnish all supervision, tools, labor, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to remove and replace flooring materials as identified in various buildings located at the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System, 3601 S 6th Ave, Tucson AZ 85723-0001. The VA anticipates issuing a solicitation for this requirement on or about July 23, 2013, with a closing date for proposals (bids) on or about August 22, 2013. The solicitation will be available for download from http://www.fbo.gov. Interested contractors will be responsible for downloading copies of solicitation (and any subsequent amendments) from that website, and no hard copies will be made available. The solicitation will provide full information to contractors about the proposal submission process. Prospective offerors are encouraged to register their interest in the solicitation on the FBO website so that they are notified of the issuance of the solicitation and any amendments. The government will use IFB method under Part 14 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation for this requirement. An Organized Site Visit will be held sometime July 31 to August 7, 2013. (See solicitation when available for specific date/time/location of site visit). The Period of Performance is expected to be 180 calendar days from the receipt of award. NAICS Code is 236220, Size Standard $33.5M, Project Magnitude of between $100,000 and $250,000, and the solicitation will be issued as a Small Business (SB) set aside. All responsible sources may submit proposals which shall be considered by the Agency. To be eligible for award, contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) data base at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM. Registration is free and potential offerors are encouraged to visit that SAM website and register as soon as possible to avoid delays should they be selected for a contract award.
